You might be unaware of the Snapchat’s score system of your profile (the number thingy just below your name in the profile screen). If you have observed that, you may have pondered – “What is this? Is this an ID or a score of my Snapchat ID? If so, how does Snapchat’s score work?.” Fret not, in this article; we will let you know how Snapchat’s score works.
You might have already seen it – but in case you have not yet observed it, follow the steps below to find your Snapchat profile score.
1. Launch Snapchat.
2. Head to the profile screen by tapping on the profile icon on the top-left corner of the screen (As shown in the image above).
3. Now you should observe a random number under your profile name (this is your Snapchat profile score). And, when you click on the number, you’ll see another set of numbers with a separator in between – that describes the number of snaps you have sent and the number of snaps you have received respectively.
To know how the score works, you should first understand what it is. Snapchat’s official FAQ section describes it as:
Your Snapchat score is determined by a super secret special equation that combines the number of Snaps you’ve sent and received, the Stories you’ve posted, and a couple other factors
Snapchat primarily considers the number of snaps you have sent and received to calculate the score. In other words, it monitors your usage – the more you are active, the more is the score.
Your activity could include the trophies, stories, number of friends, and usage of other available features of the app.
Like we mentioned – increasing your activity will result in a higher score. And, as one of the factors being – “number of snaps sent” – it only counts the unique snaps sent. So, in other words, your Snapchat score will not increase by sending the same snap to multiple users.
There’s no known hack/trick to increase your Snapchat score overnight; you will have to keep using the app like you do (more frequently) to watch your score increase.
There’s nothing surprising (except unlocking trophies) to earn when your Snapchat score increases. It is just a fun part of using a multimedia messaging app.
You can only check the Snapchat score of your friends those who have added you back (or those who follow you). To do that, you need to just head on to the “Search” bar and then search for a particular friend. You can observe his/her snap score to the right of the username.
Now that you know how Snapchat’s score work, you should avoid online services or websites that promise you to help increase your Snapchat score. And, at the end of the day, it is not a big deal!
So, enjoy using Snapchat as you would, and your score shall increase!
