Unit Lab (Co-CEOs Sungmin Ha and Seungho Ha) announced its participation in “COMEUP Stars 2024.”

COMEUP Stars 2024, the flagship competition of the global startup festival COMEUP 2024, will feature competitive IR pitching sessions in “Startup Valley.” 50 teams, including 30 Rookie League companies, 10 Runners League companies, and 10 from the Rocket League selected by the advisory committee, will showcase their technologies. Finalists represent 13 countries, including South Korea, the U.S., the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, India, and Türkiye, reflecting the event’s global scale.

Founded in 2023 by Sungmin Ha and Seungho Ha, Unit Lab addresses the modern housing industry’s need for efficient, sustainable, and customizable living solutions. Driven by the vision of “making high-quality modular housing accessible to everyone,” the company emphasizes its innovative, customer-centric approach to meeting current housing demands.

Unit Lab specializes in developing and supplying web-based custom modular housing products. The company leverages advanced BIM (Building Information Modeling) design automation technology, optimizing the entire process from design modeling to material and cost estimation with improved accuracy. Its offerings span the B2C market with vacation homes and second houses and the B2B/B2G markets with large-scale residential developments. With diverse designs and innovative technologies, Unit Lab is rapidly becoming competitive in the modular construction market.

As a selected participant in the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ TIPS (Tech Incubator Program for Startups), Unit Lab plans to accelerate digital transformation in construction by building a one-stop process covering process management and material estimation. This approach aims to increase productivity by over 50%, enabling the company to expand its product range to mid-rise townhouses, multi-family homes, and lodging facilities. Looking ahead, Unit Lab intends to develop stackable modular high-rise buildings and infill multi-family housing solutions, targeting both domestic and international markets.

The company’s signature products include the custom modular building system “Unit House” and its web customization platform “Unit Maker,” enabling customers to create thousands of personalized housing combinations. With integrated sales, project management, design, and construction management systems, Unit Lab can quickly localize its products through international partnerships.

Regarding plans, Unit Lab stated, “Through production at our base factory in Malaysia, we aim to supply the domestic markets of South Korea, the U.S., Australia, and Malaysia, achieving reduced manufacturing costs and economies of scale.”

COMEUP 2024 will occur on December 11–12 at Coex in Seoul, featuring innovative startups and investors from over 40 countries. This year’s theme, “Innovation Beyond Borders,” highlights startups’ roles in driving global innovation across boundaries of nations and technology.
