Hive Mind Inc. (CEO Donguk Kim) announced its participation in “COMEUP Stars 2024.”
COMEUP Stars 2024, the core event of the global startup festival COMEUP 2024, will feature competitive IR pitching sessions in “Startup Valley.” A total of 50 teams, including 30 Rookie League companies, 10 Runners League companies, and 10 selected from the Rocket League through recommendations by the advisory committee, will compete. Finalists from 13 countries, including South Korea, the U.S., the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, India, and Türkiye, highlight the event’s global scope.
Hive Mind is a South Korean startup that optimizes creators’ workflows and protects intellectual property rights. At COMEUP Stars 2024, the company plans to introduce its AI-powered automatic subtitle generation and translation service tailored for solo content creators.
The service is designed to accelerate content production on major video platforms by automating subtitle creation using OpenAI’s Whisper model. Hive Mind’s proprietary solution surpasses the original Whisper model by achieving a remarkable 98% accuracy rate. Its performance exceeds established editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and ByteDance’s CapCut.
Hive Mind’s AI-powered subtitle technology accurately recognizes mixed-language content, including Korean, English, and more, supporting recognition in 40 languages and automatic translation into 150 languages.
To address one of the main challenges of generative AI—hallucination errors—Hive Mind has developed an advanced AI model with enhanced stability. The system maintains consistent quality even when audio briefly cuts out or background noise and music are present.
The service supports various video genres, from narrated clips and movies to TV shows and music videos, offering high usability and user-friendly features. These capabilities position Hive Mind as a key enabler for solo creators aiming to expand into the global market.
Donguk Kim, CEO of Hive Mind, noted, “Approximately 85% of all YouTube content is produced by solo creators, but the time-consuming subtitle creation process significantly hampers workflow efficiency. Our AI technology reduces the time required for 10-minute video subtitling from 3-4 hours to just a few minutes, providing a clear competitive advantage.”
COMEUP 2024 will occur on December 11–12 at Coex in Seoul, featuring innovative startups and investors from over 40 countries. This year’s theme, “Innovation Beyond Borders,” highlights startups’ roles in driving global innovation across boundaries of nations and technology. The event will feature conferences, pitching sessions, and exhibitions focusing on deep tech, inbound innovation, and SIS (Sustainable Innovation by Startup).
