Taking a screenshot on Mac is easy, but what about screen recording? What if you needed to record your screen maybe for evidence of a bank transfer, a chat? Or maybe you want to make YouTube tutorial videos on how to use software, play games, and so on. There are many reasons to record a screen, and here’s how.
Keep in mind that there are two methods that we’ve listed below. One is for Mac computers that are using macOS Mojave and newer, and the other is for those who own Mac computers that could not upgrade to Mojave, so take your pick on whichever method is right for you.
Keep in mind that recording your entire screen means that your menu bar, status bar, and everything else will be captured. If there are things you’d rather not have others see, then screen recording a selection of the screen is probably a better option.
macOS Mojave’s screen record feature is actually not new. It came from QuickTime Player that was the older method of screen recording. Essentially the features are the same, but since you’re using an older version of macOS in this case, you’ll have to use QuickTime Player instead.
