How to Remove a Password From a PDF File without Adobe Acrobat Reader

Whether you are an engineer at NASA or just a student at high school, at some point during the year, you’ll most likely have to work with a PDF file. Though, if the file contains information that is for your eyes only, there is a good chance of it being password protected.

In that case, if you process the PDF multiple times during the day, having to type in the password each time you open it can be very frustrating. So how do you remove the security layer?

In this tutorial, we will be showing you how to remove a password from a PDF file in a matter of seconds. The process that follows is a piece of cake.

Easily remove a password from a PDF file: Step-by-step

  1. Open up your web browser (Chrome, Mozilla, Edge etc.)
  2. Find the PDF whose password you wish to remove
  3. Drag and drop the PDF on your browser
  4. Type in the PDF’s password
  5. Click on the ‘Print’ button located in the top right hand corner
  6. Click ‘Save’
  7. Wait a few seconds for the PDF to download
  8. Done

The PDF that you have just downloaded is an exact copy of the password-protected PDF, only without a password.
