As with the majority of tech companies out there, whenever you buy an iPhone, you’re given warranty coverage. This warranty is known as AppleCare and it is free and comes with all iPhones and lasts for a year. However, some of you might have forgotten when exactly you purchased your iPhone and wonder if it is still under warranty?
If you want to check whether or not your iPhone is still covered by AppleCare, then here are several ways that you can go about checking whether or not your iPhone is still under warranty.
If your iPhone is still under warranty, if there are issues with the phone you will be able to either get it repaired or replaced assuming it is eligible and covered.
AppleCare is the name of the basic warranty that Apple offers to all customers. It is free and usually lasts for at least a year. AppleCare+ is the extended warranty that you will have to pay for and it covers things like accidental damage.
Under AppleCare, things like manufacturing defects are covered. For example, if your power or volume buttons stop working a month after you got your iPhone, that is covered.
However, what’s not covered are user-caused issues, like if you dropped your phone and the screen cracks. In that instance, it would be covered under AppleCare+, although you will still need to pay a deductible.
Yes, AppleCare+ will cover lost or stolen iPhones, but there will be a deductible of $149, and this can only be used twice (presumably so that people don’t abuse the plan).
