A lot of us have had a Facebook account since the platform’s early years. During that era, it was common for people to use nicknames or pseudonyms on social networking platforms.
While that applies in 2018 as well, at least when it comes to Facebook, people tend to use their real names (actually a requirement of the platform), for professional or other reasons. Changing your name on Facebook is a piece of cake. In this tutorial, we are going to be showing you how.
How to change your name on Facebook for desktop
- Go to Facebook’s website
- Open the drop-down menu by clicking on the downwards arrow symbol located in the top right hand corner
- Click on the ‘Settings’ option
- Click edit on the ‘Name’ tab
- Change your name, surname and then hit ‘Review Change’. You can also add a middle name (optional)
How to change your name on Facebook Mobile: Android and iOS
The process on mobile is almost identical to the one on desktop.
- Open the Facebook app on your device
- Tap on the menu button located in the top right-hand corner
- Swipe down until you find the ‘Settings & Privacy’ option
- Select the ‘Settings’ option
- Tap on the ‘Personal information’ tab
- Select the ‘Name’ tab
- Change your name, surname and then hit ‘Review Change’. You can also add a middle name (optional)
