DJI Introduces Dock 3: “Drone In A Box” Solution For 24/7 Remote Operations

DJI has just launched DJI Dock 3, its first “Drone in a Box” solution with vehicle-mounting support. Designed for continuous remote operations, the platform serves sectors such as public safety, emergency response, and infrastructure inspection. The Dock 3 is compatible with the newly introduced DJI Matrice 4D and 4TD drones, offering enhanced performance and protection.

The DJI Dock 3 is built for critical operations in challenging environments, functioning at temperatures ranging from -30°C to 50°C (-22°F to 122°F). It has an IP56 rating, providing protection against dust and water. The Matrice 4D and 4TD drones feature low-noise, anti-ice propellers, ensuring stable flights even in freezing rain and winds of up to 12 m/s (27 mph).

The Dock 3 supports both fixed and vehicle-mounted deployments, allowing horizontal calibration and cloud-based location adjustments. For increased efficiency, two docks can be deployed on a single vehicle to rotate between drones. A fixed installation can also include the D-RTK 3 Relay to reduce interference in video transmission and satellite signals.

High-Performance Drones: Matrice 4D and 4TD

Both drones are IP55-rated and offer up to 54 minutes of forward flight and 47 minutes of hovering. They come equipped with a wide-angle camera, a telephoto camera, and a laser range finder.

• The Matrice 4D is optimized for high-precision mapping and surface inspections.
• The Matrice 4TD includes an infrared camera, making it ideal for low-light inspections and emergency response operations.

Airborne Relay Operation

Using the DJI RC Plus 2 Enterprise remote controller, Matrice 4D drones can operate independently or as an airborne relay, extending communication coverage in obstructed areas or regions without a 4G signal.

Comprehensive Support Accessories

• Obstacle Sensing Module: Features LiDAR and millimeter-wave radar for precise navigation.
• AL1 Spotlight: Illuminates targets up to 100 meters (328 feet) and moves with the camera.
• AS1 Speaker: Projects audio up to 300 meters (984 feet) and supports text-to-speech conversion.
• Third-Party Payload Support: Connects external equipment such as parachutes via E-Port.

Data Security and Regulatory Compliance

DJI prioritizes data security, giving users full control over their information. Flight logs are not automatically synced to DJI servers in the U.S., and users can delete shared data at any time. FlightHub 2 meets ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 standards for information security compliance.
