JBL has announced the expansion of its Authentics series with the introduction of the JBL Authentics 300 and JBL Authentics 200 in White. Originally launched at IFA 2023, where the black version received one of the Ubergizmo’s Best of IFA 2023 awards, the Authentics series draws inspiration from the iconic JBL L100 loudspeakers of the 1970s., blending retro design with modern audio technology. The new models will be available for purchase starting in March 2025.

Enhanced Audio Performance with Versatile Connectivity

The JBL Authentics 300 is a portable smart speaker designed to deliver room-filling sound through both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. Equipped with a built-in 8-hour battery, the speaker can be easily transported around the home, providing consistent audio performance in different spaces. The JBL Authentics 200 complements the series as a stationary home speaker, offering the same high-quality sound performance and seamless integration into home environments.

The Authentics 300 features dual 1-inch tweeters for crisp, detailed highs, a 5.25-inch full-range woofer, and a 6.5-inch down-firing passive radiator that enhances bass response. This combination ensures balanced audio output across various genres, making the speaker suitable for different listening environments, from the kitchen to outdoor gatherings.

Multi-Room and Streaming Capabilities

With Wi-Fi connectivity, the JBL Authentics 300 allows users to stream high-definition audio from platforms such as Spotify Connect, AirPlay, Chromecast built-in, and Alexa Multi-Room Music (MRM). This enables listeners to experience uninterrupted audio even when taking calls or leaving the room. Multiple JBL Authentics speakers can be linked to create a synchronized multi-room audio experience or to set different moods across various rooms.

The speakers feature automatic self-tuning, adjusting audio performance based on their placement to ensure optimal sound quality. This capability simplifies the listening experience by adapting the speaker’s output to different environments.

Design Inspired by the Past, Tailored for the Present

The design of the JBL Authentics series pays homage to the JBL L100 loudspeaker, incorporating a modern aesthetic that fits contemporary home decor. The speakers feature an aluminum frame, synthetic leather enclosure, and a Quadrex grille, blending durability with visual appeal. The new White finish adds a sleek, understated option for consumers looking to match their audio equipment with a variety of home interiors.

A notable feature of the JBL Authentics 300 is its industry-first integration with both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. Users can interact with either voice assistant simultaneously, allowing for versatile control over music playback, smart home devices, and various tasks. This dual-assistant capability provides flexibility, enabling users to leverage the strengths of both platforms without switching between them.

Setup is streamlined through the JBL app, where users can configure voice assistants, manage preferences, and adjust audio settings. This app also facilitates access to integrated music services, expanding options for content discovery and playback.
