OnePlus announced OxygenOS 15 on October 24, 2024, emphasizing speed, design, and AI-driven features to enhance user experience. The system, in line with OnePlus’ “Never Settle” ethos, integrates advanced capabilities for efficiency, privacy, and aesthetic appeal.
A key feature, Parallel Processing, enables fluid multitasking by optimizing animation interactions and reducing redundant storage use. This innovation aims to maintain smooth performance under heavy usage. OxygenOS 15 also debuts AI-powered photography tools, including AI Detail Boost, AI Unblur, and Reflection Eraser, to enhance image quality in various scenarios.
Productivity advancements feature the Google Gemini AI, enabling intelligent searches, on-screen image/text selection, and Pass Scan for boarding pass recognition. AI Notes, embedded with voice transcription and editing tools, simplifies note-taking, while AI Reply generates context-aware responses within messaging apps.
The design update reflects OnePlus’ style through new animations, icons, and settings adjustments. Features like OneTake for unlock aesthetics and “Share with iPhone” for cross-platform file transfer streamline interactions. For security, OxygenOS 15 employs Google Play Protect and anti-theft measures, including remote locking and offline protection, enhancing data safety.
OxygenOS 15 will first be available in beta on the OnePlus 12 5G, starting October 30.
