At Snapdragon Summit 2024, HONOR unveiled its forthcoming Magic7 Series, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform (check out our article comparing it to the Snapdragon 8 Gen3), marking a significant step toward an AI-first ecosystem.
The Magic7 Series will be the first smartphone line to feature an on-device AI Agent designed for an open ecosystem, enabling extensive user assistance with commands.
The AI Agent can handle tasks like ordering takeout, managing subscriptions, booking travel, and even making intelligent recommendations based on learned user preferences. This innovation, debuting with HONOR’s MagicOS 9.0, aims to bring a new level of autonomy to mobile technology.
In gaming, HONOR’s device will integrate NPU-based generative AI, enabling real-time AI-powered graphics rendering for the first time on mobile. This feature reduces GPU demands, resulting in lower device temperatures, improved graphics quality, and a more immersive gaming experience.
HONOR also introduced MagicRing, a technology for secure AI experiences across devices, strengthening Qualcomm’s Snapdragon ecosystem; With MagicRing, multi-device coordination is enhanced; for instance, users can create AI-generated artwork on the HONOR MagicPad 2 and transfer it easily to other devices like the Magic V3 or MagicBook Art 14.
The company’s partnership with Qualcomm reinforces its strategy, with both companies intent on setting new standards in AI-integrated mobile technology. The HONOR Magic7 Series will launch in China on October 30, 2024, signaling the start of what HONOR describes as the era of “Autopilot AI.”
