Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 series has already generated significant buzz, with multiple sources providing early insights into the 2025 flagship. A recent leak detailed an early mockup of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, and now, reports suggest Samsung may introduce a notable change: revised model names.
According to reliable leaker Yogesh Brar on X/Twitter, Samsung is considering renaming its Galaxy S25 series models. The “Plus” moniker might be replaced by “Pro,” and the “Ultra” name could be swapped for the familiar “Note” branding. It remains uncertain if the base Galaxy S25 variant will also undergo a name change. If Brar’s information is accurate, the new lineup could be the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Pro, and Galaxy S25 Note.
Google had a weird name for Fold but they are not the only one
I hear Samsung could do the same
Ultra could be called Note, Plus would be Pro
What sounds better?
Galaxy S25 Ultra or Galaxy S25 Note ?— Yogesh Brar (@heyitsyogesh) August 16, 2024
This potential renaming aligns with recent industry trends, such as Google’s rebranding of its Pixel 9 series, which introduced the Pro moniker to its second-generation foldable and a new Pro XL model. With approximately six months until the Galaxy S25’s debut, these changes are still speculative, but they could resonate with users who fondly remember the Galaxy Note series.
In addition to the possible name changes, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to feature several design modifications; Early mockups indicate the presence of rounded corners, a departure from the sharp corners seen in previous models.
Reports also suggest the Galaxy S25 Ultra will be only 8.4 mm thick and may include display and camera upgrades, such as a larger telephoto camera. As the launch date approaches, more information will likely emerge, providing a clearer picture of the Galaxy S25 series and its potential new names.
