The YouTube channel HydraulicPressChannel conducted a series of resistance tests on the hinge of the upcoming HONOR Magic V3, set to be unveiled on September 5 at IFA 2024 in Berlin.
The hinge withstood a force of 1,150 kg and was even used to crush a rock without any deformation, demonstrating the exceptional durability of the Super Steel material employed by the brand.
In another durability test done by The YouTube channel PhoneBuff, the HONOR Magic V3 proved to be the industry’s first foldable phone to successfully pass the 2.5-meter IPX8 water resistance test.
The device endured the demanding conditions of a washing machine and emerged fully functional despite some scuffs and scratches on its sides, reiterating the exceptional durability promised by the brand.
Are we finally arriving to a time that foldable phones do not to be very delicate and fragile? This will indeed fire some competition from the bigger brands. Let’s see what the main rivals will prepare for the next generation of foldable devices for the years to come.
Oh, and despite the impressive test results, Ubergizmo by no means advise or encourage users to perform these crazy experiments, of course—We never know what can happen to our precious devices, so it’s better to keep them away from the dangerous situations, preferably.
