TCL has introduced NXTPAPER 3.0, its latest iteration of display technology, at CES 2024. Recognized with the CES 2024 Innovation Award for Mobile Devices, TCL’s NXTPAPER technology bridges the gap between smart devices and e-readers.
The update incorporates Circularly Polarized Light (CPL) screen technology to simulate natural light paths, enhancing the paper-like appearance for additional eye comfort; Higher refresh rates and DC dimming technology ensure a flicker-free viewing experience, while an improved Adaptive Color Temperature feature automatically adjusts based on time and ambient light.
The software includes a built-in eye-care assistant, providing reminders for healthier digital viewing habits, such as taking breaks during prolonged use and detecting poor lighting or proximity issues.
TCL plans a global launch of tablets and phones with NXTPAPER 3.0 in 2024. The NXTPAPER 14 Pro tablet, introduced at CES 2024, is the first device infused with NXTPAPER 3.0.
The tablet boasts a substantial 14″ 2.8K display with CPL technology and DC dimming, according to the company, offering “unprecedented eye comfort” — Despite the expansive display, the TCL NXTPAPER 14 Pro maintains a slim and lightweight profile. Powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8020 and 12GB of RAM, the tablet is positioned as a productivity powerhouse. With a 12000mAh battery, 33W fast charging, and 256GB ROM, it promises to support both work and entertainment needs effectively.
TCL plans to expand NXTPAPER technology to a broader range of models in the TCL 50 Series smartphones in 2024, including U.S. devices like the TCL 50 XL NXTPAPER 5G and TCL 50 XE NXTPAPER 5G. According to the brand, its innovations prioritize a superior visual experience, eye comfort, and technological advancement.
