Samsung And Maison Margiela Unveil Haute Couture Galaxy Z Flip5 Smartphone

Samsung has partnered with Parisian fashion house Maison Margiela for the second time to create the new haute couture Galaxy Z Flip5 smartphone. The foldable device features a rear glass that showcases the stitching and inner seams of a Maison Margiela jacket, with a color exclusive to this special edition. The semi-transparent effect unveils the hidden structure and details of the garment.

The smartphone also comes with a Flap Leather Case, highlighting natural black leather, woven fabric, and genuine fabric logo labels. The crafted stitching on the cover’s back reflects Maison Margiela’s ‘Work-in-Progress’ design identity. The Galaxy Z Flip5 Maison Margiela edition, along with the Flipsuit Case, will be available from November 30th in select markets.

The Flipsuit Case includes two cards, one with a paint splatter design and another with a silver plate, each with Maison Margiela’s unique numbering design. Attaching one of these cards to the back of the Galaxy Z Flip5 transforms the device’s theme, displayed on the Flex Window, inspired by Maison Margiela’s Artisanal collection.

The packaging of the Galaxy Z Flip5 smartphone reflects Maison Margiela’s style, featuring the fashion house’s signature stitching pattern and resembling sample storage used in atelier stores. The exterior of the package is covered in a paper-based woven book cloth fabric, reminiscent of Maison Margiela’s workshop.

This collaboration follows the haute couture edition of Galaxy Z Flip4 in 2022. The new edition takes a step back from loud visuals, incorporating Maison Margiela’s signature white color with shades of gray, leading the design of the cases and packaging.

The Galaxy Z Flip5 collaboration retains a leather cover but drops the numeric coding ring cover from the 2022 edition. Both covers feature the fashion house’s signature four-stitches emblem. The special edition will be available from November 30th in select markets.
