Acer has introduced its first Chromebook Plus laptops, including the Acer Chromebook Plus 515, aligned with Google’s Chromebook Plus initiative. The Chromebook emphasizes improved hardware designs with upgraded displays, and cameras, and enhanced productivity, creativity, and multimedia capabilities.
The Acer Chromebook Plus 515 was engineered to match the needs of users seeking productivity, entertainment, and connectivity, featuring a modern high-performance processor, high-resolution IPS display, and 1080p camera with narrow bezels to provide immersive visuals. James Lin, General Manager, Notebooks at Acer Inc., emphasized the focus on creativity, productivity, and connectivity, highlighting that these devices enable users to do more of what they love.
The Chromebook comes with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Express for photo editing and graphic design. Users can enjoy a complimentary 3-month subscription to Photoshop on the web and Adobe Express Premium; Built-in editing features facilitate quick and easy enhancements for photos and videos. The Google Photos app offers an AI-powered Magic Eraser to remove unwanted distractions and File Sync ensures accessibility to Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides, whether online or offline.
The machine offers 8GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and SSD storage options of up to 512GB, supporting Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.1 and featuring dual USB Type-C ports and HDMI for connectivity.
The Chromebook enhances conferencing with a 1080p webcam, Temporal Noise Reduction (TNR), and Blue Glass lenses. AI-powered tools improve clarity, cancel noise, and blur backgrounds. Privacy is ensured with a physical webcam shutter, microphone mute, and camera-off options. Dual upward-firing speakers with DTS Audio deliver high-quality sound.
The Acer Chromebook Plus 515 features Intel Core processors, including 13th Gen and 12th Gen models. It offers a 15.6-inch Full HD display with touch or non-touch options and anti-glare technology for readability in various lighting conditions. The model is U.S. MIL-STD 810H compliant, demonstrating durability. It includes features like an OceanGlass touchpad and an optional backlit keyboard.
Aligning with Acer’s commitment to sustainability, the Chromebook Plus models support the company’s Earthion mission, incorporating recycled materials, sustainable packaging, and energy-efficient design. For educational institutions, the Chromebook Plus laptop is available with Chrome Education Upgrade, for better device management. This includes access to teaching and collaboration tools like Screencast, Adobe Express, and File Sync.

The Acer Chromebook Plus 515 will be available in North America and EMEA starting in October, with prices starting at USD 399.99 and EUR 499, respectively.
