Now it looks like Netflix is about to get more competition in the form of YouTube. Now, YouTube already has YouTube TV, but it seems that the company is going one step further by actually launching TV shows and movies that users can stream for free. However, the catch is that these shows will come with ads, but if you’re fine with that, then it’s a good way to keep yourself entertained.
According to YouTube’s announcement, “YouTube is at the forefront of the consumer shift to CTV viewership as the top ad-supported streaming platform with the content people enjoy and the creators they love. And now US viewers for the first time will be able to watch full seasons of TV shows on YouTube for free with ads.”
Keep in mind that you probably won’t be able to get the latest TV shows or movies for free, but if you’re fine with catching up on series and movies that you missed, or want to rewatch, this could be a good place to start. At the moment, the feature will only be available to US residents, so those living outside the US won’t be getting access to these shows and movies for now.
