To give you some context, the Pro Display XDR is priced starting at $5,000 and features a 32-inch display with a 6K resolution. It is designed for industry professionals in mind, but for those who just want a monitor and don’t want to pay so much money, the Studio Display is priced starting at $1,600 which is still expensive, but it’s an easier pill to swallow.
One of the reasons why the Studio Display is so expensive is because Apple isn’t just making a display here, but making a somewhat smart display thanks to the A13 Bionic chipset that is being used to power it. The display itself comes with a built-in 12MP camera that takes advantage of Center Stage, helping to keep users centered in the frame during video calls.
As for the display itself, it measures 27-inches and has a Retina 5K resolution with a brightness of up to 600 nits, P3 wide color, and also True Tone technology that can adjust color temperature automatically.
The Studio Display also comes with a host of connections like 3x USB-C ports, a Thunderbolt port, and it is also VESA compatible for those who want to be able to mount it on a monitor arm or a different stand. It is priced starting at $1,599 for the standard glass model, and $1,899 for the nano-texture glass model.
