The Honor Magic 4 Pro is a new premium Android smartphone that was just announced. Destined to the market’s Premium segment, it has a competitive positioning and feature set.
One of its most remarkable capabilities is the 100W uber-fast “HONOR SuperCharge” battery charging that should wirelessly charge from 0% to 50% in 15 minutes!
For reference, 45W to 65W wired charging is considered very good at the high-end. 100W+ is already exceptional for wired charging, and 100W wireless charging is the highest I’ve seen.
The design is elegant and minimalist, which is great to focus all the attention on the phone’s camera system in the back. The phone seems particularly agreeable to hold, thanks to the rounded edges.
The Magic 4 Pro comes with three cameras and additional sensors. On paper, the specs are impressive: the Primary and Ultrawide cameras feature 50MP sensors, while the zoom lens has a 64MP sensor and a 3.5X telephoto lens, most likely tuned for Portraits.
The 2848×1312 screen uses LTPO technology, a first for Honor. It has a 120Hz refresh rate that can go down to 1Hz to save battery life, and its color accuracy (100% P3) and brightness (1000 NITs) are excellent.
Inside, you find high-end components such as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, the standard in powerful Android smartphones like Galaxy S22, and many others.
There are 8GB to 12GB of RAM, and storage can range from 128GB to 512GB depending on the model and price. In general, I’d instead go with less RAM and more storage, but your situation might be different.
Overall, this phone looks pretty agreeable to use, and we’ll have to verify that at some point. Pricing starts at €1099+, so it competes with the Galaxy S22 Ultra, according to online prices we’ve looked at.
If that’s a bit too high, you might want to consider the Honor Magic 4 (non-Pro) as it starts at €899 and is designed to provide a similar type of experience. Watch the full launch below:
