Now according to a report from DigiTimes, it looks like Apple is inching towards making that a reality because the report claims that Apple has started to conduct phase 2 engineering validation tests.
For those who are unfamiliar, EVTs are where a company creates a unit that looks and functions almost like the final unit using the same materials and components. Companies will also then need to see and identify potential problems that manufacturers could run into when producing the device and then make any changes before full scale production begins.
Given that the rumors claim that the device will launch later this year and might be available for purchase in 2023, it shouldn’t be surprising that Apple is in the EVT stage right now. Barring any unforeseen issues, hopefully we won’t have to wait too long to finally be able to see what Apple has been working on all these years.
