Weighing scales these days have gotten a lot more hi-tech than they were back in the day. These days, many weighing scales are smarter and can do more than just tell you how much you weigh. Some can even do things like check your posture and balance and recommend you exercises to improve it.
This is why it doesn’t come as a surprise to learn that at CES 2022, Withings has unveiled its new smart scale called the Body Scan. It will do everything you might expect from a smart scale, like measure your weight and body composition. However, it can go even further than that as it will come with new sensors that can check your heart rhythm like an ECG machine, and also assess your nerve activity.
This is done through the measurement of the sweat gland activity in your feet where it can offer users a daily assessment of your small nerve activity. It can even determine your vascular age if you’re curious about your heart health.
The Body Scale will also use Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis to measure your body composition, so if you’re wondering about things like body-fat percentage, visceral fat, muscle mass, bone mass, water content, and more, it will be able to tell you those things. As expected, it pairs with a smartphone app and you can take that data to your doctors if you need further consultation.
The Withings Body Scale will be going on sale in the second half of 2022 where it will be priced at $299.95.
