Samsung is no stranger when it comes to massive displays. Some of you are probably aware of the company’s Odyssey lineup of monitors, like the Odyssey G9 which offered a massive 49-inch display. However, it looks like at CES 2022 this year, the company has outdone themselves.Samsung has recently announced its latest monitor in the form of the Samsung Odyssey Ark. This is a massive 55-inch curved monitor which if you think is too wide, don’t worry because it can actually be angled vertically so that the monitor curves over your head! We’re not sure what the point is, but perhaps it can be used for better immersion.
According to Samsung, “The HAS (Height Adjustable Stand), pivot and tilt functionality, in addition to advanced ergonomic design, offers every gamer optimal comfort. This new vertical cockpit-style rotating display provides a new gaming experience and allows portrait or landscape orientation for multi-tasking and multi-window setup.”
Samsung says that they are planning to bring the Odyssey Ark to the market later this year in the second half of 2022, and it will feature the use of quantum dot color technology and mini LED backlighting. There is no word on pricing, but as with most huge displays and the fact that it is curved, don’t expect it to come cheap.
