However, could the company be looking into making its own console? According to Windows Central writer Jez Corden, in the Xbox Two podcast, he revealed that he has heard rumors that Apple is apparently poaching Xbox engineers where they are being hired to help develop Apple’s own gaming console.
Corden does preface this by saying there isn’t much sourcing on the rumors so it’s probably best to take it with a grain of salt, but could this truly be something Apple is interested in? We have heard some wild rumors in the past that Apple might launch a Mac dedicated to gaming, but that never came to fruition.
If anything, it is possible that Apple could be hiring Xbox engineers to maybe help Apple make its Mac computers more gamer-friendly.
Apple’s Mac computers have never really been known to be well-suited for gaming. Games can be played on it, but it’s not necessarily the same compared to a PC gaming rig. By hiring Xbox engineers, perhaps Apple is looking to make translating code of Windows or Xbox games better for Mac, which could entice developers to bring more games to the macOS platform, but we’ll have to wait and see how this one pans out.
