Christmas is supposed to be a happy holiday, but yet there are people who go out of their way to ruin it for others. This was the case of Texas mom Nyssa Galvan who had her Christmas lawn decorations stolen right under her nose, but thankfully due to a bit of tech ingenuity, she managed to track the thieves down.
According to Galvan, she recently started to prepare for Christmas by putting out some decorations in her front yard. However, she had learnt that one of her neighbors actually had their decorations stolen, and so she decided to get creative by hiding Apple’s AirTag tracking accessory in some of her own decorations.
Sure enough, her hunch paid off because her decorations were stolen, but as she had hidden AirTags in them, she was able to track it down to a house where she called the police. Unfortunately, there was a bit of bad news. It seems that despite being able to track down her stolen property and doing the right thing by calling the cops, Galvan wasn’t able to get her decorations back at least on that day because no one was home when the cops showed up.
Galvan later followed up with another post on TikTok where she said she did manage to get it back and suggested that other people do the same with their own decorations.
