However, despite it being announced almost half a year ago, the feature has yet to make its official debut, and it seems that it is still missing from the latest versions of macOS and iPadOS. According to MacRumors, Apple has recently seeded the release candidate for macOS 12.1 and iPadOS 15.2, and it seems that Universal Control was not seen in either version of the updates.
As the publication notes, the feature was also not present in the betas of either update, so it shouldn’t be surprising that the feature did not make the final cut. It is unclear why the feature is taking so long to launch, but it’s starting to feel like maybe it might not launch before the end of the year.
Apple’s website states that Universal Control is expected to be launched in the fall of 2021, but given that we’re almost in the second week of December, we can’t say we’re too optimistic about seeing it launch before the year is out, but we could be wrong so we’ll just have to wait and see.
