Back then if you wanted to repost something on social media like Instagram, you’d have to download it onto your device and reupload it. However, these days reposting has become pretty common and there are now built-in functions that let you do that with a tap or two, streamlining the process.
For those of you who use TikTok and would like to see a reposting feature, you’ll be happy to learn that it could be on its way. This is according to a tweet by Matt Navarra who discovered that TikTok is now testing out a repost button. Presumably what this does is that you can watch a TikTok video and repost it.

At this point in time it is unclear how this feature works and where you’ll be able to repost the video to. Unlike Instagram where users can repost photos or videos into their Stories, TikTok does not have such a feature, at least not yet. It is possible that this reposting feature could launch alongside the company’s own Stories-like feature, and that’s where reposted TikTok videos could go.
There is currently no word on when either feature is expected to be available to all users, but for now it looks like it is quite limited in its availability due to testing, so don’t be surprised if you don’t see it in your TikTok app just yet.
