So when Apple debuted its new M1 Max and Pro MacBook Pros, the company also quietly launched their very own polishing cloth for $19. It was not announced at the event itself, but yet it still managed to garner headlines around the world and proved to be popular enough for it to eventually become backordered.
Now it seems that Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk has decided to poke fun at Apple’s decision to launch their own brand of polishing cloth, so much so that he announced that Tesla would be making its own whistle that you can purchase for $50 (at this time of writing it’s currently sold out) from the company’s website.

According to Tesla’s description of the whistle, “Inspired by Cybertruck, the limited-edition Cyberwhistle is a premium collectible made from medical-grade stainless steel with a polished finish. The whistle includes an integrated attachment feature for added versatility.” Musk’s tweet also takes direct aim at Apple where he says, “Don’t waste your money on that silly Apple Cloth, buy our whistle instead!”
To Apple’s credit, while $19 is expensive for a polishing cloth, at least you could use it with the company’s products, versus this whistle that feels novel, but then again, we suppose Musk was simply trying to highlight the absurdity of how much attention a piece of cloth was getting. We’re not sure if the company plans to restock the whistle so if you were late to the party, you’re out of luck.
