That being said, it seems that Sony could be developing something similar of their own. This is according to a report from Bloomberg in which they claim that Sony is apparently developing a similar service codenamed “Spartacus” in which it would essentially offer up the same features as Xbox Game Pass.
However, it seems that this could be slightly different in the sense that it would offer three different tiers for users to choose from. The first tier will offer up features similar to PlayStation Plus, so we’re not sure if this could result in PlayStation Plus being retired in favor of this. The second tier will unlock a catalog of games similar to Game Pass, while the third tier will offer extended demos, game streaming, and access to a larger library, which in part sounds like Game Pass Ultimate.
The upcoming service is said to be launching in the spring of 2022 but when exactly remains to be seen, bu if you’re a PS gamer, this could be worth looking forward to.
