It looks like Oppo is getting into the foldables game. The company published a blog post in which they announced their first foldable phone ahead of the INNO Day event. The post doesn’t really tell us much except to tease a side profile of the phone and to talk about the company’s plans and motivations behind the device.

The handset is expected to be called the Oppo Find N and according to the company, development actually started back in 2018. “As early as April 2018, the first generation of the Find N prototype was born internally. Although a handful of other brands have already introduced foldable devices to the market, barriers such as utility, durability and user experience continue to prevent foldable devices from becoming a more feasible daily driver for most people.”

For those who can’t wait until next week, which is when INNO Day is expected to kick off, leakster Evan Blass shared a ton of new renders of the upcoming handset, which you can see in the tweet above. For the most part it looks like a typical foldable phone, although it looks like it might have a slightly wider front display.

This is versus the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 whose front display is kind of “thin”, whereas the Find N’s display looks more like your standard phone. We’re judging this based on the renders so in real-life, it might be different. Either way, we’ll have more details next week so check back with us on the 15th of December for more updates.
