Google Pixel Watch Could Finally Be Happening

For years following Google releasing all manner of Pixel branded products ranging from smartphones, tablets, laptops, earbuds, and so on, many rightfully wondered if Google could eventually release their own smartwatch. Unfortunately despite all the rumors over the years, a Google smartwatch has yet to make its debut.

That could change soon though, because according to a report from Business Insider (paywall), they claim that Google could finally be ready to launch their own Pixel Watch in 2022, although when exactly remains to be seen. However, if we had to venture a guess, maybe it could make its debut at Google I/O and be available for purchase at a later time, but that’s just our speculation.

So why now? Why not earlier? Once again we don’t know for sure, but if you recall earlier this year at I/O, Google announced plans to revamp its Wear OS smartwatch platform together with Samsung. Perhaps this is what Google was waiting for before debuting its Pixel smartwatch, but we don’t know for sure.

In terms of features, we expect that it should come with the standard features one more expect from a smartwatch, perhaps with some Pixel exclusives, but either way we’ll probably find out in 2022.
