DJI is probably best known for their drones. These drones usually come with their own cameras built into them, but it seems that the company could actually be developing their own standalone camera that could potentially allow them to compete with other camera manufacturers.
This is according to a tweet by OsitaLV who discovered a patent filing from DJI for a camera that shares a similar look and design to the Hasselblad X1D 50C. This is actually not the first time that it has been suggested that DJI could be looking to develop their own standalone camera. In 2019, the company acquired a majority stake in Hasselblad, which led to speculation that the company could be looking to expand its camera offerings.

At this point in time, not much is known about the camera that DJI could be making. However, given that Hasselblad is known for their high-end cameras, we have to wonder if and when DJI were to launch their own digital camera, would it be in a similar vein or would they try to compete on Sony, Nikon, or Canon’s level in terms of pricing.
While DJI is known for their drones, the company does make other camera-related products. This includes various gimbals designed for DSLR and mirrorless cameras. They have also launched mini gimbals like the DJI Osmo Pocket and Pocket 2. The company also attempted to go up against GoPro with its own action cameras like the DJI Osmo Action.
