That being said, for those who love the iconic design but want a more modern take on it, Bowers & Wilkins have since announced the latest version of the speaker which they have simply called the Zeppelin. On the surface, it doesn’t look too different from its predecessors, but it has been updated with some modern features.
For example, it now features support for USB-C for updates, it will support wireless protocols such as Apple’s AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, and aptX Adaptive Bluetooth. It will also feature integration with various streaming services like Tidal, Deezer, Qobuz, Soundcloud, and TuneIn through its accompanying Music App.
The speakers will also feature the use of a pair of decoupled double-dome tweeters, 90mm midrange drivers, and a 150mm subwoofer mounted in the center of the speaker. It is also priced at $799 which is not cheap, but given its specs and features, there might be some who can justify its price tag.
