This is according to various user reports in which many users were posting on Twitter, Reddit, and OnePlus’ forums where they were encountering all manner of bugs that made their phones difficult to use. This included basic phone functions like making or receiving phone calls, a broken Autofill feature, the inability to change icons, customize status bar icons, and more.
According to OnePlus who has since acknowledged the issues, “We are aware of the issues caused by the OxygenOS 12 update and our software team is fixing them. We will suspend this software update and roll out a new iteration as soon as possible.” We’re not sure when the fixed update will start rolling out again, but for now users will have to wait.
If you’ve already updated to Android 12 and you’re wondering what to do about it, don’t worry because OnePlus has also since published a guide on the forums where it shows users how they can roll back to the less buggy previous version of OxygenOS. That might be worth checking out if these bugs are getting a bit too much for you.
