This was initially spotted by graphic designer Anton Bulzomi where according to an Apple support page, it shows how the new MacBook Pros use 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5). This is versus Apple’s older 2017-2019 Intel MacBook Pros which use 802.11 ax, plus the maximum spatial streams supported on the new MacBook Pros are 2/MIMO, while the older ones actually support three.
That being said, we should point out that this probably isn’t as big a deal as you might think. This is because the speed differences are essentially around 100Mbps. Unless you’re somewhere with a very slow and unreliable connection to begin with, there’s a very good chance you might not notice any difference.
However, we suppose some might take issue with this simply because for such a brand new laptop meant to be decked out with the most powerful hardware, it is disappointing that not only has Apple not given it WiFi 6 support, but actually gave it (theoretically) slower WiFi.
