Disney Announces Battle Royale Style Game Exclusive To Apple Arcade

One of the advantages that Disney has is that they’ve built up a massive franchise over the decades, which means that they have a ton of characters and stories to pull from without necessarily having to create them from scratch.

We can see that in action in the company’s latest upcoming mobile game, Disney Melee Mania, which was announced as an exclusive for Apple Arcade. This is a brawler, battle royale style game where gamers can pick from a variety of Disney characters over various franchises and have them duke it out in a battleground.

According to the description, “Throughout five-minute matches bursting with battle arena action, players will need to score the most points possible — or defeat the opposing team as many times as they can — for a chance at victory. They’ll join fast-paced multi-player battles that put each character’s unique abilities to the test in close-combat competition, with multiple modes and challenges to test their skills, and also earn in-game rewards from events.”

The gameplay style looks similar to other battle royale-styled games, one of which is already available on Apple Arcade in the form of Butter Royale. If the style is similar, it is because Disney Melee Mania is being developed by the same company, Mighty Bear Games. The game is expected to be released in December and will require an Apple Arcade subscription to play.
