More Details Leaked About Apple’s Upcoming Mixed Reality Headset

In a recent report, it was revealed by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman that Apple’s mixed reality headset could be launching as soon as 2022. According to Gurman’s claims, he said that the device would feature the use of “advanced chips, displays, and sensors”. Now more details about the headset have been revealed in a new report.

This report comes from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who wrote in an investor’s note, seen by 9to5Mac, in which he claims that the headset will be using WiFi 6E, which is the latest generation of WiFi and is optimized for use in mobile devices and IoT devices. Not only does it support faster speeds, but it can also support a greater number of connections.

As 9to5Mac points out, mixed reality headsets generally require more bandwidth due to the high resolution content, and will also require low latency otherwise the things the user sees will be delayed, which is why it makes sense that Apple would adopt the latest WiFi standard for its device.

At the moment it is unclear when Apple’s headset is expected to be launched, but Kuo had previously estimated that it would arrive in the fourth quarter of 2022. As for pricing, we’ve heard it could cost anywhere from $2,000 up to $3,000.
