A report from the Korea Herald has revealed that domestic sales in South Korea for the new foldables are said to be close to hitting the 1 million mark. This is pretty insane when you think about it, because considering the pricing on their foldables, this suggests that even though they might be pricey, many consumers seem to be willing to pay a premium for it.
The report goes on to suggest that the pace of sales is similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and the Galaxy S8, both of which were the fastest to hit the million sales mark in the country. Keep in mind that these are just figures for South Korea, so we imagine that it would be much higher when you combine the sales from the rest of the world.
It’s actually rather exciting to see foldables do this well. There is a lot of appeal to them in concept. It’s hard to fault some of the potential hardware issues and limitations since it’s still relatively new, but just like regular smartphones during the earlier days, we expect that things will eventually improve.
