After what feels like an eternity of endless teasers, Google has finally confirmed that its next-gen flagship phone, the Pixel 6 series, will be officially launching on the 19th of October. The event will be livestreamed at 10AM PT so be sure to check back with us then for more updates.

Google is expected to launch two phones, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. This will be quite an exciting launch because for the first time ever, Google will be introducing its own custom chipset for its mobile devices. This will come in the form of the Tensor chipset that will finally put Google in the same boat as its rivals like Apple.

It also makes Google one of several Android handset makers who have opted to use their own custom chipset instead of relying on others like Qualcomm or MediaTek. Google also seems to have adopted a brand new design for the Pixel 6 series which we are kind of digging thanks to the futuristic-looking vibes.

The Tensor chipset is said to help boost the AI capabilities of the phone, which we imagine will apply to things like the camera to help it achieve even greater results. Either way, it’s going to be an exciting launch, so who else is looking forward to the new Pixel 6 series?
