This is according to a tweet by Ross Young of DCSS who claims that the iPhone SE with the larger display, which he thinks will be between 5.7-inches to 6.1-inches, will only be coming in 2024. What’s interesting is how Young also claims that the phone will continue to use LCD for its choice of display technology, despite it being a phone in 2024.
We now hear the next LCD iPhone will be introduced in 2022 and called the SE Plus with the same 4.7" LCD as the 8 along with 5G. We hear the iPhone SE3 with a 5.7" – 6.1" LCD is now pushed to 2024. https://t.co/9gxiAAk8Yi

However, we had previously said, LCD is cheaper to produce compared to OLED so that could be a reason why Apple is keeping the display to keep prices low, but in 2024 we imagine that most phones would have switched over to OLED so if this claim is accurate, we have to say it is a bit disappointing.
Also, what’s a bit odd is that Young had also said that 2022’s iPhone SE will be called the iPhone SE Plus. This is despite the fact that he claims that the iPhone SE 2022 model will continue to use the same 4.7-inch LCD as the 2020 model, so we’re not sure what is so “Plus” about it.
