Android 12 Starts Rolling Out To Pixel Devices

Android 12 was in developer preview since earlier this year, but the good news is that it looks like it is finally ready for the masses. Google has announced that they have started to roll out the Android 12 beta, but keep in mind that this is only for Google’s own Pixel devices first.

For those who own non-Pixel handsets, when the update will arrive for your phone and whether your phone is eligible for the update will depend on the manufacturer, so you’ll have no choice but to wait and see what the manufacturer has to say regarding the update’s availability. However, it’s safe to assume that if you bought your phone either this year or last year, there is a good chance you’ll be able to get the update.

Some of the changes users can expect to see from the Android 12 update is to the UI. Google is calling this Material You which offers deeper customization and personalization. This comes in the form of dynamic colors which can change certain elements of your phone’s UI based on the wallpaper you set.

There will also be changes and improvements made to the privacy of Android, new widgets, and also improvements made to the accessibility of Android. It will also now be easier for users to transfer data from one device to another, even if you’re switching from an iPhone to Android.

According to Google, Android 12 will be available for Pixel 3 devices and newer, so you should expect to see an update available in the coming days or weeks.
