However, that could change soon. It seems that YouTube is currently testing out allowing users to save videos for offline watching on desktop. This is actually pretty cool and the videos will stay downloaded and viewable offline as long as your computer has an active internet connection at least once every 30 days, so unless you’re planning to be offline for more than a month, this shouldn’t be an issue.
According to YouTube’s website, it seems that this is a feature that will only be available until the 19th of October. Like we said, this is a test so the test is expected to conclude a little under a month from now, but assuming it goes well, it should eventually be made available to all Premium subscribers.
Also, YouTube notes that the feature will only work in browsers like Chrome, Edge, or Opera. There’s no mention of Firefox or Safari, so if you’re using either of those two browsers, you’re out of luck for now.
