The good news is that according to a tweet by James Shields, senior product planner at Xbox, it looks like Microsoft is working on a firmware update where users can double tap a button on the controller to switch between multiple devices. So instead of having to pair and unpair or go through settings, once your controllers are linked up to your devices, you can just double tap to move between them.

It should be noted that this is a feature that was previously only available on the Xbox Series X/S controllers, but this firmware update will bring it to older Xbox controllers like the Xbox One controllers with Bluetooth, Elite Series 2, and the Adaptive Controller (sorry Xbox 360 gamers).
The update was pushed out to Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha users last week, so hopefully it won’t be too long before the update finds its way to everyone else.
