Over the years, WhatsApp has evolved its design. Taking a look at the app when it first launched and what it looks like today shows how far the company has come, and it looks like they are not stopping there.
According to a report from WABetaInfo, they have discovered that an upcoming change to WhatsApp could see the company introduce a redesigned chat bubble. Right now, WhatsApp’s chat bubbles are rounded rectangles, but as you can see in the screenshots above, the new chat bubbles feature even more rounded sides.
They are still kind of flat on the sides but they are definitely more rounded compared to the previous device. Also, it seems that WhatsApp will be changing the colors of the chat bubbles to a different and brighter shade of green for light mode, and a darker shade of green in dark mode.
The differences aren’t very obvious and might not necessarily jump out at you when you’re using the app, so it’s more of a refinement of the current design. We have no idea when these changes are expected to be pushed out, nor are we certain that these changes are the final design or if WhatsApp could end up scrapping it entirely and reverting back to the original look.
