This is according to a report from 9to5Google in which according to references made in Android 12.1, there is mention of yet another foldable codenamed “Jumbojack”. The publication notes that this is not the first time that Google has used that codename, and that previous documentation that they had spotted corroborates the use of that name.
However, back then it was suggested that Jumbojack was a tester device, but since Google refers to this as the Pixel, the commercial branding used for Google’s products, it has been speculated that this might actually be a second foldable Pixel handset that the company plans to launch.
What’s interesting is that this handset is also said to possibly be similar in design to the Galaxy Z Fold, where it will have a folding display that opens and shuts like a book. Google hasn’t officially confirmed their plans for a foldable Pixel handset yet, but last we heard, the company apparently still has plans to launch such a device (or devices?) by the end of 2021.
