According to a report from Korean publication DDaily, it seems that Samsung might have cancelled their plans to launch the Galaxy S21 FE this year due to two reasons: the global chip shortage and also because the Galaxy Z Flip 3 has been selling much better than Samsung had anticipated.
As a result, it seems that Samsung might be trying to focus more on its foldables and also prioritizing its resources for it, versus the Galaxy S21 FE which is honestly more like a rehash of the company’s flagship phone that launched earlier this year.
The fate of the Galaxy S21 FE has been unclear for a while as there were reportedly production issues that caused it to be delayed, and now it looks like it might even be cancelled. Samsung hasn’t actually confirmed anything yet so if you were looking forward to the phone, don’t be too disappointed yet.
However, the event that was meant to launch the device was rumored for October, so we should know soon enough whether or not that’s still happening.
