According to the new report, apparently when NVIDIA does eventually relaunch the RTX 2060, it might actually be launching with double the amount of memory, meaning that instead of 6GB, it could relaunch with a whopping 12GB of VRAM instead.
NVIDIA is currently facing some shortages with its RTX 30-series, which is why the company is looking to bring back some of its older models that rely on a different architecture. The RTX 2060 was actually launched back in 2019 and was considered a great entry-level GPU for those who wanted one of NVIDIA’s Turing GPUs.
Many praised the GPU’s price-to-performance ratio and it was well-received until 2020 where the company discontinued it. There is currently no word on when the RTX 2060 will be relaunched, but as NVIDIA expects the Ampere GPU shortage to carry over into 2022, hopefully it will be soon for those who are looking to build a new gaming PC.
