It seems that recently over in Singapore, a motorcyclist’s Apple Watch managed to help after he got into a hit-and-run accident. The motorcyclist collided with a van and fell off his bike where he lost consciousness. However, it seems that while he lost consciousness, his Apple Watch did not.
It detected that he had experienced a hard fall and since he did not respond to the prompt, it then sent a message to the motorcyclist’s emergency contacts, while also calling for an ambulance.
According to the motorcyclist’s family, they said that they were very thankful for the watch’s feature because at the time of the accident, the streets were relatively empty and there might have been a chance no one would have noticed the accident until it might have been too late. This is actually not the first time we’re hearing about the fall detection feature saving a life, and we expect that we’ll be hearing more of these stories in the future.
