According to a recently listed Geekbench benchmark, it appears that the iPhone 13 Pro’s GPU managed to earn a Metal score of 14,216. To give you some context, the A14 Bionic in 2020’s iPhone 12 Pro scored 9,123 in the same benchmark. This represents an improvement of 55% over its predecessor.
It should be noted that this benchmark is for the iPhone 13 Pro. While Apple is using the same A15 Bionic chipset across its iPhone 13 lineup, the non-Pro models are using a slightly different GPU which has four cores, whereas the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max models have a five core GPU.
Since there are no benchmarks yet for the four core GPU, we’re not sure how much better it would fare over its predecessors. We imagine there will be an improvement, but how big of an improvement compared to the Pro models remains to be seen. However, with the release of the new iPhones coming up, it won’t be too long until we start seeing more real-world tests.
