Google Pixel 6 Spotted At The FCC, Launch Could Be Imminent

Google has been steadily teasing their upcoming phone, the Pixel 6, although they have never officially confirmed when the phone would be launching. However, it looks like we could be inching closer towards an official launch because the Pixel 6 and its various models and variants have been spotted at the FCC.

According to the listings, it has revealed the devices in question feature connectivity options such as mmWave 5G and WiFi 6E, while others have sub-6GHz 5G and also WiFi 6E. While none of them explicitly mentions the Pixel 6 name, it’s probably safe to assume that these are the phones, unless Google has other 5G devices up their sleeves that we haven’t heard about.

Many are rightfully anticipating the upcoming Pixel 6 handsets. This is because they will be launching with Google’s own custom chipset, a first for the company after years of mostly relying on Qualcomm for chipsets for their Nexus and older Pixel handsets.

However, some of that excitement might have been dampened when benchmarks were spotted online for Google’s Tensor chipset which showed a less than impressive performance. It is possible that the chipset hasn’t been fully optimized yet so hopefully Google will have better and more impressive numbers to share in the near future when the phone is launched.
