Last week, it was reported that the Apple Watch Series 7 could have hit a production snag. It is unclear what this will mean for the launch because there are a couple of different scenarios that could play out, such as Apple delaying the announcement entirely, or they could choose to announce it but supply will be limited.
It turns out that it will probably be the latter scenario. This is according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman where in his latest Power On newsletter, he claims that Apple will probably announce the Apple Watch Series 7 alongside the iPhone 13 later this month, but stock of the smartwatch could be limited at the start.
Gurman also shares that in the case of the Apple Watch, the reason behind the delay doesn’t seem to be due to the global chip shortage, but rather the new and larger display that is causing issues with production. Do note that Gurman’s predictions are his own, as opposed to being told by a source, so there is a chance that Apple’s plans could be different from this.
There is still currently no word on when the iPhone 13’s event will take place. Many believe it will be this month, but when exactly is anyone’s guess since Apple hasn’t officially announced anything yet.
